Introduction
Historical
Background
Colour
television was first introduced in the United States in the year 1953. The colour
TV system adopted there was developed by the ‘National Television System
Committee’ which was specially constituted for this purpose. This system is
known as ‘NTSC System’.
A
refinement of this system was developed in the federal republic of Germany by
the Telefunken Laboratories. This system which is known as PAL (PAL standing
for phase Alteration Line), was first introduced in the year 1967. This was
adopted in the U.K., Federal Republic of Germany and a number of other European
countries.
